Pre-meeting starts at 11:30am with Pen Turning for the Troops.  Lathes, mandrels, blanks, and kits will be available.  Small carbide tools will also be available or bring your own.  If you have never turned a pen this will be an opportunity to develop a new skill!   If you are an experienced pen turner, this will be a chance to mentor and/or turn a pen for a good cause.

Meeting starts at 1pm with Jeff Hornung showing us how he turns a Calabash bowl, the process and the history of the vessel.

President’s June Challenge is to turn any item using an exotic wood.  Per Garry Roux at our last meeting – exotic is any wood that you do not turn on a regular basis (but typically one from another country).

Please join us on June 23rd.
